Nokia N-Gage Gaming Finally Laid to Rest

11 December 2009 224 views No Comment

Nokia’s N-Gage, which was originally intended to be a series of game-oriented handsets, but later turned out to be just a simple (as-seen-before-kind) software platform on certain devices (The Original N-Gage, N-Gage QD & Nokia N-Series), has now finally been discontinued from production. The game development for the same will be discontinued as well (well, atleast from Nokia’s end, 3rd parties yet to confirm) for the N-Gage.

The current N-Gage users still have a year to get whatever they can from the N-gage store (online) before that is taken down as well, along with the applications it hosts. Not just the store will be closed down, but the games with online features will be disabled as well. Nokia will now concentrate on it’s new Ovi store, which is assumed to do far better than the original N-Gage concept. The revolutionary gaming device has finally bitten it’s dust. Fare thee well, N-Gage.
