Sony Ericsson Android Phone Rachael: Leaked Images
As many know by now, Sony Ericsson [SE] has been working on a Google’s Android OS based mobile phone, which would be one of the finest phones to come from SE. The former has opted on staying mum regarding this mobile phone and has not yet released any kind of information regarding it over the past months of it’s research and development stages. Even then, a few pictures have been leaked by a Danish site, which seem to be Sony Ericsson’s Android mobile phone, as mentioned earlier. The pictures, indicate the phone to be a good one, if not great.
The phone is codenamed “Rachael”, and will be announced soon, around the end of this year, according to the information posted on the Danish website. The phone will be from the XPERIA family of phones, which till now, used the Windows Mobile based Operating systems. As Sony Ericsson had joined the Open Handset Alliance last December, it clearly indicated that it’s next smartphone will surely be based on one of the Opensource Operating Systems, which it has lived upto. The Danish website, Mobil says that
The Android-loving SE Rachel is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform (QSD8250), wich would give the phone processor speeds of up to 1GHz and 7.2Mbit per second HSPA downlink speeds.
The leaked images also confirms a 8.1 Megapixel camera on the phone, which would be the most powerful camera yet to appear on mobile phones using Android OSs. Along with the camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a simple miniUSB port are also depicted, which ensures compatibilty to all standard headphones and connectivity to computers, respectively. However, no details regarding the phone’s screen such as the color, screen resolution or size are yet disclosed. But, one thing that the Dutch magazine claims is, that the phone will feature a pressure sensitive touchscreen, making things very easy and futuristic. Let’s see if this phone would be the final iPhone Killer? Or one of the “wannabe’s”?
