AMD to release DirectX 11 Compatible Card

With the hype for Windows 7 going around so much, with the added fuel with DX 11, many GFX manufacturers are running in the race to the DX 11 card. AMD has announced that it will be launching a graphics card, that will support Microsoft’s latest update in it’s Direct X technology. DX 11 is aimed to make the interface in Windows 7 more realistic and smooth.

AMD Phenom II 955 hits 7.1Ghz

A group named LimitTeam successfully overclocked AMD’s Deneb 45nm Phenom II X4 955 processor (Black Edition) back on April 30, and submitted the results for validation to CPU-Z. During the process, the group used the Asus M4A79T Deluxe motherboard, dubbed as the Asus “multidimensional performance platform” featuring support for an AMD 140W CPU and the AMD 790FX/SB750 chipset. Additionally, the group threw in 4 GB of DDR3 memory from Apacer Technology and a ATI Radeon HD 4800 series graphics card. As a result, the group reached 7.127 GHz, beating the previous score of 6.7 GHz. However, LimitTeam didn’t reveal any specifics in regards to cooling during the overclocking process.

AMD Slashes Phenom II Prices!

Hallelujah, AMD has done it again! AMD recently launched two brand new spanking processors, the Phenom II 920 and Phenom II 940 Black Edition, giving Intel’s core 2 quad CPUs a real tough competition! Intel immediately reacted to this by slashing their prices across the same range, including the bad boy, 3.0 Core 2 Quad Processor – the Q9650 which saw a whopping 40% decrease in price! No rewards for guessing what AMD did next! Ofcourse, Cut it’s own CPU prices by an awesome margin!
