How To: Use YouTube’s Essential Tags

12 April 2009 1,979 views 2 Comments

Watching videos online on YouTube just got even easier! Earlier, people had to wait for the entire video to stream, and then start playing the video, and jump or skip to the part they actually want to see. But the latest addition from YouTube makes life easier for people who are always on the move and want things done as soon as possible.

You can now, squeeze more and more out of YouTube by logging into the site first, then get the URL of the video you wish to view. Then append the #t=<minuteandsecond> at the end of the URL without the “< >” ofcourse, for example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEKErVF9zHc#t=1m45s and the video will start playing directly from 1 Minute and 45 Seconds, rather than the start. A nifty addition.

Second update was a new neat little app developed by Enounce, called MySpeed. What it exactly does is, basically slow down the speed of the video according to your own fancy. What’s even more is that you can easily extract audio from the video with the site: www.vidtomp3.com

Hi there mate.. You can even add &fmt=18 or &fmt=22 at the end of your URLs, in order to get HQ videos, even if you don’t have the option in the player.. I hope this helps.
